Precision Engineering Inc – A Diverse Company Before it was a Popular Thing
Today’s society places high importance on “diversity and inclusion” – and with good reason. However, at Precision Engineering, we’ve always valued our diverse workforce – from top to bottom.
Whether its gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, or even convicted individuals who have paid their debt to society, we believe in a “people first” culture. We’ve always considered the person by what he/she “brings to the table” – to elevate our company and our customers.
So, with measured fanfare, we are pleased to announce that Precision Engineering Inc has once again been certified as a woman-owned business, by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) – the country’s premier certifier of women-owned businesses. This includes both WBENC and WOSB certifications.
President and Co-founder, Liora Stone says, “I am proud that Precision Engineering has been nationally recognized as a woman-owned business. It’s a true honor, and I hope that more women are empowered to follow their passion and be courageous with their ideas – rising above the challenges we often face while running and growing businesses.
We have grown our business from the ground up; and I believe that, with strong determination, every woman can help her company achieve its goals. My message to women who want to start a business, especially in a male-dominated industry, is to realize your worth. Stay true to yourself by understanding your limitations, work towards turning them into your strengths, and surround yourself with a good team. None of us do this alone.
…and WBENC is one of those partners. WBENC provides a remarkable platform for women business leaders. It ‘opens doors’ and helps us to excel at what we do.“
WBENC’s national standard of certification is a stringent process that includes a thorough review of the business, from both a financial and an operational perspective; and it includes a site inspection. The entire process aims at confirming that the business has at least 51% women ownership, operation, and control.
As part of the WBENC network, Precision Engineering joins a community of more than 13,000 certified businesses being run by like-minded women entrepreneurs. Supporting the advancement of women in business, Liora serves on the WBENC Forum and on the Central Massachusetts Advisory Board for the Center for Women & Enterprise..
